As you probably have all noticed (I hope), the site has been down for the last day or so.

Us moderators still do not have any idea what the cause was, but if it was anything serious we will let you all know.

Its good to see you all again. I tend to get withdrawal symptoms if I cannot access DIYGK. I hate the sweaty palms. :D

Yeah, wow... I was this close to checking myself into rehab...

I banged off a couple of emails to our fearless leader who's currently on vacation, but I guess the sherpa hasn't made it it the mountain yet.

Glad it's over, I woulda had to call in sick to work today.

welcome back guys ;)

Oh, and it was the whole server that wasn't available incl some other domains on the same IP (vintageprojects.com for example); so most likely hardware failure, nothing to worry about.
Think of it as a ripped TC belt ;)

Well I don't know the server set up of course, thus I can only refer to observation,
but since there are four domains on this IP with very different topics I don't think they all belong to Robert.
So: shared host, hardware belongs to and has to be maintained by service provider ;)

I've made some similar observation over time. I DO know that our fearless leader runs more than one site/forum, but don't have much detail beyond that.

Dude I was wigging out all day.

You know its DIYGK when your computer has a Belted TC installed.
Are you using the usually Honda brand or clone for power supply..........

:funnypost::lolgoku:

We should all get a life. Lol

:surrender::confused: Um, I still have a life (at least I think I do); are you guys saying that by checking in more than once or twice a day, I'm in fact only imagining having a life?????:ack2:

Well- yes and no. Hobbies like ours (both physically wrenching and digitally) are more constructive than other things we could be doing (partying, carousing, getting arrested for various things, ponzi schemes, etc).

Sooooo- I'm okay with what I got goin' on.

ME-"Hi, my name is Chris, and I am a DIYGK-oholic."
GROUP-"Hi Chris, thank you for sharing."

So just to update everyone -- yes it was a massive failure of hardware when I was gone on vacation. Fixing the server from Central America was... um... "interesting"... ;)
