Hi Guys.

I recently got a go kart.
Have not taken much pics of the frame. Will be fitting a 200cc 4 stroke(5 speed manual) quad engine to it.
Here is some pics as i got it. Needs some TLC but i am working on that...

Nice. It looks like it has been repaired with square tubing on the right at one stage. Just make sure that everything is welded together properly at the repair area. Where that square tubing meets the frame near the wheel it looks as if it needs to be strengthened more. I could be wrong, cos I cant see too well.

How much did you pick your kart up for. A quad engine would work nicely! I look forward to seeing how it turns out

Hi Paul

Yes the right side was strengthened with square tubing as it had a 125 2stroke motor in.
It was one of my friends go karts but been siting motorless for about 6 years now. They never had problems with the frame with the 125cc 2 stroke motor in. Used to smoke that little wheels :). I ended up swaping him a set of 17'' mags that he wanted for the kart. Nice thing the gear lever is already there so not alot of modding needs to be done to get the gears working

Hey Skippy. Nice kart man, I've got one just like it. Your karts an early 1990's Dino brand, they're still being made in Italy. They dont have any info about the older models like ours but here's a link to their site: http://www.dino.dk/

Did you get the floor mounted gas tank with yours? If so you could just hook it up with a pulse fuel pump like this: http://www.affordablegokarts.com/mm...e_Code=A&Product_Code=SMWFP&Category_Code=PFS

Here's a pic of my Dino:

Skippy sorry to interupt your thread but
Anderkart, how are these pumps pwered im looking for one, and where can i get one in the UK cheers :D

I gave some of those guys a call when i was sourcing parts, and because they import everything, it was a bit expensive. I found that Ed Murray racing was quite helpfull, but very expensive.

There is also a place called Checkmate Products. They have a lot of spares, but I am not too sure if they carry what you are looking for. They are based in Brits, so not too far from you. Take a day off, have a braai at Hartebeespoort Dam and pop in there at Brits. It is worth looking at their website though. You have to search a bit for pricing, but it's there.

Hi all.
Thanks for all the info.
Some update on the build........

Got a battery for the starter and pump...

Cooling system....

Fuel pump:)

Motor before i took it out of the quad.

Motor after i took it out the quad

Ignition switch build...

Still need to build new mountings for the motor, respray(mat black) and get a skid plate... but here is an idea what it would look like with the motor on...

Looking good man, but I wouldnt mount the engine hanging way out there like that. My Dino's axle has a keyway machined where I could relocate the sprocket to the inside of both RR axle bearings. You'd have to move your seat over to make enough room but this is commonly done with race karts so your left/right weigh bias will end up more even for better handling.

What I'm suggesting would have the axle sprocket located like this shifter kart so you can mount that engine further inboard:

I was thinking of that but i already have a problem with space as my arm will be very close to the engine because of the gear shifter. That was not the final mounting of the motor... Still need to build the engine mounts. So the motor will move in a little bit for the weight balance.....
