It wouldnt read correctly on only 2 cylinders. If you get a cable driven tach, you can mess with the gear ratio until it reads correctly, i think thats your best bet.

if you want a tach that bad look on ebay for numeric tach/hourmeter they are like 40$ and designed for 1 cyl engines

EDIT: found this : http://cgi.ebay.ca/Tach-Hour-Meter-m...d=p3286.c0.m14

that would work!!! but i'd ask the seller first! to be sure...

That one looks similar to the "Tiny-tach."
http://www.tinytach.com/tinytach/gasoline.php

I'd like to know how fast it updates, but probably slow like that the cheapo Tiny Tach @ ~2.5s

The only ones that i have seen that will work are digital, and I rather not have digital.
I was reading that some of the ones designed to work on the 4cyl might work on 2cyl due to 4cyl using a waste spark system? something along those lines. You'd have to research that.

I read the instructions in the store and the one line is tapped into the wire that goes to the dist or coil pack, I imagine you could just tap into the spark plug?
I was going to get it and fool with it and just put it on my truck if it doesn't work, but $20 is a bit too much for that tiny gauge. Probably find a big one on craigslist for the same price.
