Default pedal throttle assembly

i have an hand throttle already built on my 8hp briggs and stratton motor. what i would like to do is replace this hand throttle with a pedal. the linkage seems pretty complicated if i want to switch to pedals so i would need some help. again i am new to this so it might not be that complicated at all. there are some pictures below of the throttle assembly...

Its virtually the same thing. Using the second picture on the right there where the bolt is that the cable move is where you put the new cable. then just hook up the other side to the pedal and test a few times. One time i set one up and just went and for got to put on the return spring so it was stuck wide open. that was intresting.

take the red part off the handle and weld some tube on there instead of the red part. then use that as a pedal

alright well im going to buy some bike cables and change the existing cable. the problem i have is that the bike cable is intertwined wires....will the wire be stron enough (with a return spring) to bring the trottle back down?? the throttle on the motor is stiff so maybe i should add some grease??

work the trottle out so it's loose. with a spring it should work.
