Default Intallsing an Start Motor to my Engine

ok I am installing an electric starter (Tecumseh 29965) to my Tecumseh H70-130205D engine. I am going to have a 12v battery that is charged using the AC stator inside the flywheel by having a rectifier in line to the battery. Then the starter motor will be turned over by a switch that is conneted to the battery and the startor and I belive that the negitive side of the battery is conected to the enge so the negative side of the battery is connected to the engine. I am confused on how I wire it up and how to know if my Stator (altenater) creats enogh power to charge the battery.

Thanks Ricky

You got any pics or model numbers? Would make it easier to figure out.

The starter need a HEAVY wire and a solenoid to engage it, you cant use a switch directly.

Oh, my bad, I mis-read it and thought it was the engine number.

1. Rectifier/regulators usually have some sort of input a ground and an output.

2. I don't know as I'm not familiar with that type of equipment

3. You should be getting something about 14V output if it's regulated, possibly more if it's not. Assuming it's meant for 12 system.

The larger the amperage, the more power it will provide to the starter for cranking. I would say minimum of a 7Ah lead acid battery.

you have to remove the flywheel to hook up the stator u should see 4 holes (i think it was 4) where a fine thread screw would fit all you do is screw it on (with the right screws and make sure your wires are kept at the top out of the way) then put the flywheel back on and plug it in
