you mean the carb holes? If so you have ALOT of repairing options. Re-tap it. Heli Coil it, Drill it out and tap the new bigger hold and drill bigger carb holes, Drill it out a bit and JB weld in threaded rods and use nuts to hold it on.

Buy a $30 heli coil kit, plug off the intake, tap and install, go play.

$30 for a helicoil kit? You could get a Briggs 2HP motor on eBay for that!

Probably not, but these a days, you could get a Briggs 2-3 horse that runs great for $40-$50 shipped. Back then, it was $30 shipped, seeing as I have a few of them myself.

I like Tyler's idea of hogging out the holes and JB-Welding a pair of studs in place. We did it on a friend's Mazda Pickup (themostat housing) and it worked beautifully. When you drill out the hole oversized, carefully hog out the deep part of the hole with a dremmel a little wider... when you pack it in with the JB-weld, it forms a sort of Keystone that'll make it stay in there pretty well. But always keep your eye for cheap engine buys too, can never have enough!
