Default Rear Axles

OK from what I have seen on this and some other forums......... The rear axle is threaded for what ? screw on a hub ? or bolt to keep the wheel from coming off ? I am so confused as usual

I think it's yes and yes, depending on your purpose. In my case, I'm using them to hold the rear hubs on with a nut on each side.

Usually holds hubs on.
