Default Build Off Entry: Shoppin buggy!

I won't show the sketch i drew of the simple idea for this build till the end, just because i want to see how different it will become from my first basic design. I am starting this build with a pretty nice craigslist score, an ATV suspension and drivetrain. Here is my bounty:

It came with a 5hp briggs painted black, a side cover with built in gas tank, a badly modified and cut in half mini bike, and its 33cc motor.
But best of all is the entire wheel tire engine suspension brake fueltank combo. motor condition is unknown... but price was right. $65 for the lot. if the motor runs, everything i need is here... except a frame.

now i got to go shopping for a frame...

i'll add the pic with the build-off and password when its posted!

Well i went frame shopping and came back with a couple kiddie bikes, an old kick scooter (which is actually from my childhood), piece of shift linkage, a folding chair... and no its not just to carry parts in, the shopping cart as well.

to be honest, i saw the LOLriokart and thought it was very cool, and considered something similar, but alas its been done so i figured i would find another way to recycle it. I used to use it for moving firewood or other crap, but the wheels are falling apart.

you may ask, how are all these items going work as a frame? well the answer is as simple as what do all these things have in common. steel i can weld!!! i think i will still need one more metal donor to complete my frame, but i have an idea for that too. one of the reasons i decided to use this crap is to show that you can make something from anything, sometimes things you wouldnt expect or think of, and things can have a second life as something useful instead of just throwing them out.. and the other reason is I HAD THEM AND THEY ARE FREE.

budget so far- still 65 dollars.

oh and sorry about the date, i forgot to put it in the pic. use of the word mugwump should suffice. great password btw never would have thought of that one haha

sorry havent updated in a while. been out craigslisting. i have to stop it! its an obsession... i now have another pocket bike and 2 more go karts.... scored some more scrap metals too for building with. also bought 100 dollars worth of chain/sprokets/hubs/bearings for this build. i cleaned up the CVT on the 150 cc and turned the engine over a few times by hand. this thing has hella compression! the carb's bits didnt move smooth so i threw it to the side to clean later, i will probably use the carb off my 150cc bike build because i know it works right now. gonna extend the intake about 5 inches (i read somewhere these gy6 150's like about 6 between the head and carb)

i picked up a KTM 125 front end i might end up using on my 150cc bike build, and use the 150cc forks on my new pocket bike build since its forks are fubared. found a 70cc ATV engine (with CVT) for the pocket bike. turned out the guy is a cop who like to drive fast... imagine that lol.

i really got to stop trying to build so much at once, but its hard when i end up swapping all the parts around to make things the way i like them!!

real progress soon i promise. even if it means starting two more threads to keep the info seperate HAHA

Looks like you have enough stuff there for the next 5 build off competitions. Don't get carried away with doing too much at once, otherwise nothing will get done, believe me.

Well done on the craigslist finds though. I wish we had a proper craigslist here

turns out they need to be rebuilt but i didnt pay crap for them. not sure if its an SX or what. just know its off a 98 125.

landuse-you are right. i actually have collected enough for 5 builds now, its why i havent started another thread, because ive got too much on my plate. the design of this buggy has changed now... ive decided to put the motor under my seat to keep from having to do a crazy chain idler thing. should make the whole build easier. i also might be getting a complete honda atv front end that might be easier to use because its got the frame with it.

ive also picked up two go karts to play with in my yard. one is a stock streaker kart, the other is an old one thats been well modified. will be posting pics soon
