Default What about a Trike Build?

I have been thinking about building a trike, using a pair of heavier bicycle tires or lightweight dirtbike tires on the front, with suspension, and a single lightweight motorcycle tire for the rear.

it will have a lightweight, welded steel tubing frame, single seat, steering similiar to a go-kart, and small gas powered engine. (skooter, motorcycle, or lawnmower engine), and will be chain driven, much like the single sprocket go-cart or chain driven motorcycle. the frme will be built using savaged Bicycle & Motorcycle parts, steel tubing , & will be beefed up as appropriate.

I know what i would like for it to look like in my mind, and have been studying pictures of similiarly made projects for design ideas. I believe that this would be a challenging, yet worthy project, that could be fun...

A group of the 5 best ones I have found have been attached. all of these products are commercial products for sale, with advertisements common. I am contemplating a "marriage" of the 5 photgraphs, and might build a study model first just to see how it goes.

Anyone ever do anything like this before?

Here's another neat inspiration for the build:The Coventry Victor
it was produced from 1926 to 1938 -the Coventry series looks neat. -

here's an old advertisement.... ironically this was produced during a time of economic depression...

Here's one that is a little bit more doable... this builder incorporated a solar panel with bicycle parts and electric motor... He built it for less than $550.00
