Default Coleman ct200u EX Muffler Issue

Hello everyone. New here. I just picked up a used coleman ct200u ex for my son. It seems like it runs great, but I'm having an issue around the muffler/exhaust assembly. After running it for a little bit there seems to be a buildup of moisture around the muffler assembly, but it is an oily residue. It might be hard to see in the images, but I attached 2 photos. You can see how it's oily from the way pieces of grass and dirt stick to it. It is causing the muffler to smoke after it gets so hot, and the moisture builds up enough to where it drips down onto the chain cover. Any ideas?

You probably have oil leaking into the internals. My best guess is a worn exhaust valve guide.
Oil is getting through the system somewhere, it could be:
Piston rings/cylinder wall
valves/valve seats
valve guides
and so on and so forth.
It could be as simple as a bad gasket, but I don't know.

JT oil is already in the internals in all engines lol

But anyway yeah I agree with you
How old is the engine and how much abuse has it seen?

Hard to say. Manufactured date on the bike says 11/2017. As for abuse I have no clue how hard the previous owner ran it. How difficult would it be to replace the piston rings? The valve assembly doesn't seem too difficult, but I may be mistaken about that. I have limited knowledge of this stuff.

Replacing rings means you need gaskets on hand, new rings(duh), as well as basic tools, and a quality torque wrench. IDK about valve guide bushings.
Generally, you just need parts and a feel for mechanical stuff.

Ok. I wasn't sure if I needed any special tools. I have the torque wrench. I have a good idea of what I'm doing mechanically, but I haven't worked on a small engine since high school where we rebuilt a B&S in a class I was in, which of course I remember nothing about lol. Thank you both for the advice.

You might take it to the local lawn mower shop. They'll know how to do it.

Started tearing it down today to see what I can figure out, and I have a question. 2 questions actually. Initially I thought oil was leaking into the exhaust system, however, itís only the outside of the exhaust/muffler assembly thatís wet. The inside of the exhaust was bone dry.
1. What could that possibly mean?
2. Does anyone know how much to torque the bolts on the crankcase cover?

Turns out it was just the crankcase gasket, and it was just spattering that much to where it was on the muffler. It's odd how much would run off the muffler yet it didn't actually leak that much oil at a time. Easy fix, valves were fine, ran it a bunch and not a drop of leaking oil. Now on to a few upgrades.
