Well, you could adjust the throttle stop screw to squeeze a few more RPM out of it without cracking things open.

i was going to get it for my go kart build, but im leaning more towards making a mini quad out of it.

plus, he refreshed my warranty so i have another 2 years AND 90 days.

Sorry mate but what you did there was a rather complex form of stealing.

Certainly unethical, and in the end we all pay for it.

You violated the warranty conditions, the completeness of the engine doesn't matter.

As Russ said, we all pay for it....

Just saying.

what conditions did i violate? i dont get it.? yeah i paid for it alright.. but the manager was nice he gave me a discount (since i always get free stuff!) lol.

the engine was like 103 or so and the warranty was 17 i believe in the end.

and i know the world shouldnt be throw out and get new all the time... but if the engine was built like a tank it would still run.

I personally find this to be offensive.

That would be the part about tearing it all apart, funking it up, throwing it back together, and saying, "Umm... This doesn't work..."

I'm not too sure that's an accurate statement.

That was an underhanded move.

Blue, I don't want to argue.....

http://www.harborfreight.com/warranty-info/

"This warranty does not apply to damage due directly or indirectly, to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs or alterations outside our facilities, normal wear and tear, or to lack of maintenance."

That is how you violated the warranty.

The engine would of still run if:
A: You followed our advice.
B: You had better mechanical skills.
C: You hadn't of modified the engine.
D: You hadn't of disassembled and reassembled the engine with out replacing the necessary parts.

It is of no fault of the engine that it didn't run, exactly the same thing would of happened to a cast iron Briggs, Tecumseh, Kohler ect. Those engines are undoubtedly built "like a tank".

Thanks

Hayden

I whole heatedly agree with point B.
Admitting to be a "screw up" would help as well.
Being 14 years old cannot be used as an excuse.

listen, guys. there is nothing to be whining about. the HF manager could have cared less if i fooled with it a bit, the point is, he said he doesnt care. he takes them in and gives out new ones, and its just a hunk of aluminum that is going to get thrown away.

the manager TOLD me to do this when he bought it. he TOLD me that if i crash the mini bike, i screw it up, he doesnt care, bring it in for exchange. he also said if its dirty and not running totally 100%, but its the end of the warranty, he said come in and get a fresh one.

toystory, i think its time to lock this thread.
