Why say you can't have too much of something when you could say you can't have too much of everything. Too many wheels, too many sprockets, too much chain, too many fuel injectors, haha its beautiful!!

Man this thing is going to haul some serious tail! Probably hit around 25mph+, going to be one rough ride I'd bet.

All of the wheels are turning in the correct direction! You build some of the neatest stuff!

So a lot went down in the past month.

Im pushing to have this thing completely done by June this year.

After more than 6month debate, I finally ordered a full set of tires. Its been a major tossup between want/ need/ can afford...as it goes with any project.
I had to settle for the can afford option, seeing that I have 6 to buy
A set of 18-10-8 4 ply atv tires( can afford) would be on sale and became the deciding factor.
Ideally i would want 22-11-8 Kenda Bearclaw, as 22's will give more ride height and a softer ride but cost double.

Finished off the rollcage, and welded up an exhaust.
Welded up the seat frames, and mounted the frame on rubber bushes.

Next up will be the steering/ hydraulic components, and sorting out throttle mechanism.

Just a foot note.
Mounting tires onto rims is not nearly as difficult and intimidating as it originally seemed. Just use LOADS of soap!

The casters were attached to the frame prior to mounting the rims+ tires for ease of moving it around. I mounted the tires & rims without removing the casters. I couldn't bother to remove them before taking the maiden voyage.

The have been removed subsequently.

So as suspected, the TAV20 is not capable of handling the low down power from the Diesel 450cc.
I now need to look at affordable alternatives to transfer the power to the centre differential.

My options are:
1) 40 series CVT
2)500cc - 750cc 4 stroke air cooled motorcycle engine via gearbox
3) hydrostatic variable gearbox connected to the existing engine.

Either way, I'm in for a pretty penny.

Option 1 is just unaffordable in this part of the world.
Option 3 is an unknown, but intend to pursue the option
Option 2 is the way my head is going, although availability of parts and quad carburetors have always been a headache.....

I would suggest maybe the Comet 44 over the 40. It uses a a larger driven pulley so it'll give you more torque (like you need any more lol). All the 40 series are rated up to 18hp. The 20 and 30 are only good to 8. The diesel, being the way it is has 10hp and something around 18 to 20lb/ft of torque, so that is another reason why the 20 series isn't lasting too long.

Another option is, get like a 4" pulley and run a kevlar v-belt to an 8" pulley to your differential. The v-belt will give you a bit of slip, but should be fine. You may need to run this setup in dual setup (dual pulleys).
