Maybe too long?
That is THE DIRTIEST OIL I have ever seen.

You're lucky, you have tons of room there, my driven clutch is resting against my stupid brake disc.

There is lots of room. The engine looks small back there.

The guy who sold it to me said after a few months I'd want a bigger engine (when I showed him the 212cc). I don't think he thought it would perform as it does, but he was also correct. (Maybe he knew I was nuts?)

I was considering upgrading to a 420 or adding a second 212, but having nothing else to put this on, I decided to keep working on this engine.

Should call this thread "How to throw a billion dollars at a $99 Chinese air pump

First attempt at reading a spark plug. The last video I posted was the last time the engine ran.

Looks clean. Too clean, too lean?

Also sometimes likes to decel backfire.
I've been running with no muffler... I've been told this may be bad for the exhaust valve (back pressure.... Whole new thread, lol)

Looks like both jets may be need to opened up if I stay with this carb, but will probably upgrade header and carb

Some pics and measurements

Guesstimate measurement on venturi around 22mm but I'm going to double check all these.

I measured the Piston to Deck Height to be > 0.020" at TDC. It was probably 0.021" or 0.022" in the hole according to straight edge and feeler gauge. A +0.020 ConRod will get me close to flush with no Pop Out. A 0.036" Multi-Layer Steel Gasket should give me the clearances I need plus some. I'm going to check everything with clay once I get the TC and side cover off and install the Black Mamba Jr Camshaft, but first want to work on Porting and Polishing the Head.

Just got off the phone ARC Racing and ordered the following parts.
If you wanted 25mm SS exhaust valve for your Predator but saw it was "Out of Stock," I handled that for you. It is now available on the site.

DJ-1310P-36 Predator Head Gasket .036 70mm
1 $14.95 $14.95

DJ-1127 Int. Valve; Stainless 27mm HP
1 $14.73 $14.73

DJ-1121 Stainless Steel Intake Valve 25mm
1 $14.73 $14.73

DJ-1047 Retainer, Kit Valve HD w/ Keeper
2 $9.50 $19.00

DJ-1051 High Performance Lash Cap
2 $4.16 $8.32

6256 Billet Rod, HF Predator +.020 3.328
1 $83.95 $83.95

$12 Shipping

Stock Piston
Stock Lifters
Stock Pushrods
Stock Rockers
Stock Crank
Stock Flywheel

It All Adds up Quick! I'm hoping all this extra power (from new cam, rod, gasket, port, and polish) will allow me to run an alternator from the axle. (That will be another chunk of change, but will allow me to save some loot and get smaller battery - But that's in another thread.)

By the Way... ARC Racing has awesome Customer Service! Every single time I Call, I get pleasant gentlemen with a Southern Accent who is always willing to talk me through stuff!

ANY HELP WOULD BE USEFUL!
Since this is my fist look inside the combustion chamber, I don't know what normal looks like. The intake valve is much blacker (more Carbon?) than the Exhaust Valve. I don't know what this means or if it is normal?
Intake lash was set to 0.002 and exhaust 0.003"

I'm going to start looking how to clean up the piston and combustion chamber, but please share tips if you got them.

Then on to porting and polishing. I think I will be OK. It doesn't look too bad. I might not even try the carbide burrs unless I find the cartridges are too slow.
