I have a couple 5.5 motors that are complete. I believe the crank is the difference between those and the 6-6.5 ones.

I thought the difference would be in the bore.

I wonder if the animal cam would fit in the 5.5hp.

I am about 3hrs s.w. of you. If you ever come a little closer this way and want to sell the 5.5hp at a fair price, let me know.

I am not opposed to clones or Hondas I just liKe the Briggs', performance parts, and support the USA.

When I bought my Animal cam from Jim at Fastermotors, he said it would fit. I never got around to that project. I have about 6 of these motors. 1 or 2 are blown up but the blocks are good (hmm. maybe I could just ship you one of those blocks for cheap) and the rest the compression release is broke on the cams and they are the b word to start. I will grab one of the blown up ones and see what the bore and insides look like.

I will now be selling all or any parts from this engine if any one needs.
I no longer want to pursue the rebuild.
