Default Max power for #35 chain

How much power will #35 chain stand up to? The chain saw engine I'm planning to use is 98cc and puts out around 8 hp @ 10,500. Not much torque though. Will I be OK?

I'd say try it if you can't go bigger.. it will need to be replaced more often, so carry a spare in case that happens to be away from the house. it should be ok for a season at a time though.

I've seen #35 chain on 10hp choppers, The quality of the chain will definatly make a difference,

I've tried to use chain saw engines for things in the past and they never put out enough torq to move a mini..... they work really good in RC Boats tho.....

here's a video of an rc boat I built using a string trimmer motor.....

Thanks for the replies!

The small 2 strokes need lots of gear to work right.
