Default Coleman Ct200u Cheap top speed mods

So i have a bone stock coleman ct200u my grandpa bypassed the gov almost a year ago if not a year. Also i just backed out the throttle screw, it probably goes almost 55mph. my question is can i remove the jackshaft to make it faster or will it stay the smne or slower?

Off hand, cant tell with out pics....
The JS is ther probably for the width of the rear tire wont be able to align properly with the clutch sprocket... It also adds into the final gear ratio...

DO YOU WANT TO DIE?????
55 mph is REALLY fast on a minibike!
I wouldn't remove the jackshaft, but you can play with the gearing.

If the speed injury wont kill ya, the bleeding out sprawled on the street cus of a blown rod will....
Or at least more likely will...

Dont bypass the gov.....do it right... and slow down, seriously no need of it...

Is that just a really random guess? I highly doubt it goes anywhere near that fast.

"It's not speed that kills you, it's the sudden stopping that does"...or a blown rod, or a host of other things lol!

You say it's fine, until it's not, then you'll lose an engine, and maybe a body part. Or at least have a new metal addition to your body lol!

Also, not trying to burst your bubble, but I also highly doubt that 150cc quad is going 60mph. Let's say he does, then you are going to have to do a whole heck of a lot of performance mods on your mini bike. It would be insanely sketchy at those speeds even if you were able to achieve it. And seeing as how you don't even want to take the time to remove the governor, I don't think you trying to beat that quad is a good idea at all. Crashing at a (theoretical) 60mph would be very very bad.

Probably i mean my mini bike already hit 50 on a gps speedo. and i just want it to go fast because when it tops out it already takes a pretty long road to hit it. I just want to race some faster stuff for cheap . also i didnt bypass the gov my grandpa did and its been fine . another reason im asking about the gearing is my clutch is destroyed.

Well the concensus here is that you do not bypass the gov, but do it properly or don't...
So we will continue to advocate about its Merritt of doing it properly...

I don't know why the younger folk continue to push the limits of stuff like this .
..oh it's fine.. ...
No it's not..

I would agree that yu do not want/need to go that fast

I also agree that you should remove the governor. I doesn't matter who bypassed it in the past....it still doesn't make it right

Well my good man, I am throwing down the gauntlet. I do hereby demand proof of you attaining 50 or 60 MPH on your Coleman minibike.

The question of speed. That's the number one concern of the under 21 crowd. They always ask, "how fast does it go?"

I'm gonna start saying "Mach 1 (or just a hair under)"

Budget Gokart, Please tell us that you wear a real DOT helmet at those (so called speeds) speeds. Because when you have an issue your body will bounce on the payment at that speed (55 mph.) and your head will hit the ground also.

I've seen it happen. Just wanting you to stay safe.

Yes i wear a dot aproved helmet and i am not completely sure on the top speed but it hit 50 on a gps speedo. But i ran out of road to keep accelerating.

A DOT approved helmet is a good start!
You also need a neck brace and full leathers!
At that point, you are almost going freeway speeds, and REALLY bad things happen to motorcycle riders, and motorcycles are already a little safer than yours.
Just talk to a guy I know who now has titanium holding his ankle together.
Please, don't keep pushing your luck.
Besides, if you say it already takes a long road to reach the top speed, you need to focus on modding the engine further(and PROPERLY!)
If you want EVEN more top speed, take out the governor entirely(takes maybe 15-30 min. at most!), put in a billet flywheel, billet rod, and 18lb valve springs, as well as stage one mods.
Do it properly or not at all.

Please please don’t do anything stupid. I’m only a junior in high school and have a screw holding my left knee together. Granted it wasn’t from a karting accident, nevertheless you will be in terrible pain. Be safe!

That's precisely why we are very strong advocates for safety.
Even with just a bicycle crash I have managed to give my knee a ~1 in. round scar.
I'd highly recommend fully removing the governor, even if your grandpa does it for you, and gearing the bike down a good deal.

I will try and apply some math here... lets say the CT200 engine can do 5200RPM before valves float. Factory setup with jackshaft is 1:10 ratio (if I remember correctly) that would mean about 29-30mph with the stock 19" wheels.

Take the jackshaft off and you have a 1:4.5 (11-50 I believe) and that should yield around 65MPH if the engine has enough umph to take the bike/rider there.

Now for me, my CT200u-EX goes about 35 and for me that is plenty .

I just bought one of these and according to my gps 19 mph is as fast as it goes with the throttle screw out and the governor still there. are you running nitrous?

---------- Post added at 07:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:12 PM ----------

my 1st step is a torque converter then the basic predator/ clone bolt ons and I doubt it'll see 55 then
