Default Older Yerf Dog in Dallas,Texas

Have had this for a bit.

Not sure what to do with it now, Thought about doing the H freight 6.5hp predator swap but I really dont like the fact that the predator engine shaft being not long enough and the Torque converter collar barley fitting onto the shaft. EEEEK That just looks like a weak link.

The Harbor Freight 6.5hp engine does however come with low oil pressure warning a so on and so forth and have a warranty but none of that will matter if the crank shaft becomes damages by a torque converter collar not being installed correctly.

Anyone have any thoughts on this old yerf dog?

The crankshaft is no issue because as long as you have the bolt in the crank snug there will be no issue. Many of us do it. If there is any weak link on that kart it’s the frame because they crack quite often.

Once you were to get one you would realize the low oil sensor is useless in the kart because it will shut down the engine when a little oil is sloshed around from going around a curve or a bump.

Ya disconnect that oil sensor(just unplug it,no need to cut it off), and rig it inline to ground with a momentary pushbutton switch, to act as a remote kill switch. Put it where its good to access easily/quickly... stops dead with a tap, no studdering.

this is what i did to mine to get it to work with the predator. Notice where the chain is. I had the tecumseh and was really really dissapointed in how poorly it performed. The predator 212 was night and day.

I put a preadtor on my yerf dog and the only issue I have had is the tank hits the back of the frame. Kartfab that is an excellent idea!...... good enough to steal..... lol
