I have a grandmother near Little Rock. Cherokee Village.
Actually she might have died. I should probably call her. She was evil when I was little so I have held a 25 year grudge.

Finally got around to putting an AR3911 plug back in. Want to spend some time playing with the carb. I want to see if I can tune the bog out of it but wanted to wait until I got this plug.

NAPA took back a box of AR3910 I got a few months ago and gave me a box of AR3911.

I'll set the idle as high as my TC springs allow and play with the idle mix screw first.
Try the simple stuff first.

I'll see if there is any noticeable difference is the bog when the idle mix screw is turned lean vs turned rich.
A lot of internet reading says a lean idle jet may cause a bog when whacking the throttle wide open from idle. Colder weather may mean a leaner mix. Lets see if we can improve this bog. Not sure, maybe I should just clean it first.

Well I didn't fix the bog yet, but I did set a new personal speed record. 55 MPH according to the bicycle speedo. The speedo and GPS seems to very close +/- 1 MPH.

I'm calling it 55. Speed limit!
Also no more vibrating. Silky smooth again.

From a stop, it will bog and die if I wack the throttle wide open. This is with the idle turned up so that the bike will roll if I don't actively keep it stoped (feet, brakes, etc...).

However, without changing anything, If I allow the bike to roll (still at idle, no extra throttle) at 7mph and then whack the throttle wide open, the bog is almost gone. Just a slight hesitation then a rolling wheelie.

Enriching the idle mix (fuel screw from 2.125 turns to 3.125 turns out) didn't help. It seemed to make it slightly worse.

Also leaning out the idle mix (fuel screw form 2.125 to 1.125 turns out) didn't help very much.

My base setting of around 2 1/8 turns out seems to be best.
It starts on 2nd pull with choke usually.
It will die if I turn the fuel screw all the way in.

I think the idle jet is ok.
I'll have to tune elsewhere or.....

I'll just have to learn how to work the throttle better if I want the fastest takeoff possible.

Maybe up the main a little? That was why I put the wideband on mine, trying to fix a bog when I whacked the throttle. It was easier to just switch it back to alcohol so I did that instead. No more bog, and it runs better.

Yep,This bog is well known and well documented in other forums. People much more experienced than me seem to live with it or switch to alcohol. I'm sure I could tune forever and not fix it.

I might try a bigger main next. It is more annoying than anything. I can still pull a wheelie from a stop and probably get just as fast of a start if I am careful with the throttle.

A small twist of the wrist, however, is my whole throttle range.
Which makes it tricky.

You can pull individual strands out of an electric wire and put them in your high speed air bleed and make the signal to the main jet stronger. More strands = more signal.

I know you've mentioned this before. I will give it a try, but first I'd have to snow blow a half mile of street. LOL. I've got like 3 or 4 inches of snow. I kinda want to see how the mini handles the snow.

I got a video. It sucks. The phone sometimes gets pointed off in strange direction, you can watch the snow fall while listening to the sounds of my engine. I know you've never seen snow. LOL.

The neighbor's kids were sledding and building snowmen so I didn't stay out very long. I'm quite certain the mom thinks I am going to run over one of her children.

It was like 4-5" of snow and the bike handled it like a champ.
I'll see if I can get one more before work.
I'll use the PC to capture my fun.

Not a big deal, I was thinking it would be slippery and you would Crash!
So the Video Comment was meant as a Joke.
Being from So Cal where it was a balmy 75 today I have no idea what snow is like.

I'll get a decent video tomorrow, errr, today. It stays today until I go to bed, then it turns to tomorrow. Yesterday is mostly today.
