Default 2019 Buildoff?

Is there going to be a 2019 Buildoff?
All the buildoff stuff on here is from 2018.
That's all I wanna know.

Ok, I'm thinking about doing the buildoff. Might convert my yard kart to a live axle because with how much power I'm planning on giving it, with single wheel drive, I'm worried it'll just start making a donut when I try to take off. FYI I'm thinking anywhere from 15-20 HP.

I'm thinking I can enter and finish my kart for 2019, sounds pretty exciting, winning would be cool. ( )

Budget GoKart, I'm not the right person to ask about that, but try a moderator or robertdjung the administrator.
But yeah, sounds like you could enter it to me(both of y'all)

Keep in mind, you'll need a parts pile picture with a code word at the start of the build-off, and the kart cannot be more than 50% complete at that point.

Personally, I won't vote for someone who starts early or doesn't really build anything, when we have people building the whole kart from scratch.

Well, PERSONALLY, I think those of us that restore/upgrade old stuff might actually work HARDER since we have to deal with rusted, damaged, abused, and simply worn out stuff.
Now I'm not trying to take away credit from everyone else, but I think restoring and upgrading is underappreciated. Instead of starting from 0, we start from anywhere from -1 to -10!
Plus you have to take things apart before you put the good stuff on.

(adding to JTSpeedDemon's post)and most who restore/upgrade do it in back yards garages and have almost no tools, welders, power tools, and are on tight budgets i have a yerf dog 3202 and need to restore it and sorta wanna post it and be part of a build off! also i have a yt channel im posting the build to. so it can be way more interesting.

Yep, I'm working on my go kart under the covered back porch.
No welder.
No power tools.
Not even $50 to spend on parts and whatnot.
FYI I've got a Youtube channel already under the name Kartssource.
Only one video though, and that's a how to assemble the air cleaner on a Briggs 5 horse flathead.

In on these build off?
I’m new I see some posts but can’t seem to find what the deal is.
Is a I pay to enter thing?
Win something? Or the awesomeness of being the winner
What are the rules
I see someone mentioned about no voting for something more that 50% started, what about a full retrofit? Total tear down and start over?

Well most things can be answered with just the 2018 build off announcement

read that carefuly and you will get a perfectly good idea of what this years announcement will look like!
(core elements will not change)

No, there is no entry fee,
and no there is no price either (none but fame)

And as a hint:
a head start might not work in your favour..

Check the announced winners of previous years in this forum, and follow the links in the first post to find their build logs.

that gives you a very good idea what the crowd likes to see
(it's not only the finished vehicle, but also the progress and effort we usually rate )

sure thing!

show us the tear down as well,
we have no issues with "more" visual confirmation of work being done ...

if you want to start with a good running complete kart however,
you should also add some explanations of your goal in the first post,
so that we can judge if it's ~50% complete or not

you'll all need to wait for this years build off announcements to enter.
read the announced rules (again along the lines of the previously linked last years announcement)

then wait for the keyword...and then (and ONLY then) you can start a thread in the buildoff area to enter,
-this then will get checked if you are or are not eligible to enter and moved to the correct location by us.

But no worries, you will NOT miss it, since all BuildOff related stuff will be a public and omnipresent announcement
right above each forum threads
(where you now see the "Build-Off contest winner announced!")

As long as you keep an eye on that part of the forum,
there is very little chance you'd miss it.
