Default Trash Night Treasures

One man's trash is another man's treasure right?

Well that is certainly the case for me. Growing up I can remember going to the landfill with my dad to drop off garbage, but always finding something worth bringing back home.

I figured I would start a thread so there'd be somewhere to post my discoveries, scores, and worth while treasures.

Feel free to post any of your trash night treasures in this thread.

Here is today's find.

Lol...
I actually spoke to the man who threw it away. He said it was his dad's and he didn't want/need it.
slightly wobbly wheel but that can be fixed and it is still worth using.

Oh another junk thief. I love junk. Built my kart with junk. Can't wait for 2017 operation clean up in Fresno. That's when the good stuff is put out on the curb. That's when i grab my pickup and go digging.

Right on! Post your finds here.

How about photos of said landfill?

I haven't been to a junkyard lately but those were interesting to say the least... So many items with potential.

I know right...
Now that sounds like a great find.
I once got a three drawer rolling toolbox, only because a landlord was getting rid of someone stuff.

Found both of these water softener tanks tonight from two different houses.

I filled the white one with 3' and under metal ( for welding ).

Drilled holes in the black one and now using it for a compost bin.

I take my trash to the waste management place rather than pay for curb service. Last time I was there this guy had a trailer load of stuff and this was in it. He gave it to me, and I plan to build a gas powered monster truck from it for the 2017 build off.
It's a power wheels dodge ram dually.

Be careful of anything you own even being remotely close to the curb during one of these drives.
It WILL end up gone.

Lol... sad but true.
I saw a craigslist post a few months ago, where someone was asking that their pressure washer be returned. Apparently someone took the scrap metal and pressure washer. It said the pressure washer was not even near the pile.

I knock on the door and ask if I am unsure.

I got a Cactus from an old Girlfriend. It was one of those tiny 25cent ones they sell at K mart.
Well it started out as big as your thumb and after 8 years it was the size of your head.
It was on the porch near opposite a pile of stuff marked free. They stole the Cactus and the pot.

It was OBVIOUSLY not part of the free pile.

I was moving a real old cook stove. It came apart in about five pieces, incl the legs, warming compartment on top etc.
I took it off of my truck, and had it by the sidewalk while I went to park.
I went inside for a drink and came out to find it half loaded up in someone else's truck.
The woman was heartbroke when I told them to to take a flying a fund, and unload it.

I can see being upset about the cactus. I really wouldn't want to be the person caught stealing my pot though. Of course no violence. But a stern lecture on violating other peoples property and privacy. Maybe a few props to help get my point across. Ya know chainsaw, ball bat (Lucille), cable cutters, acetylene torch with a large heating tip.

I've put some thought into this. Been the victim of slimy people.
