Hellion, you were mistaken about the carb.
It's not a Pulsa-Jet, it's an old Vacu-Jet. I don't mean anything personal, but yeah, you were mistaken...
Oh, sorry. I wasn't paying much attention to this thread.

I blame you for the error. You seem reluctant in posting a good quantity and quality of pics so if you'd shown all sides of the carb, I'd have seen it has no diaphragm. No one knows for sure what you've got except you at this juncture.

No more help for you! I'm tired of guesstimating.

You've the got the interwebz at your fingertips, keep on keepin' on, dude.

You didn't hurt my feelings though. I'm made of STEEL.

Uhmmm, I already said it's got the coil system.
It's not a points engine.

Yeah I should've posted more pics...
Only steel? Chromoly, at least!

Like Hellion, I pay as little attention to you as possible as well. It's easier that way. Anyway, sounds like you are on your way to spending more money on that old flathead! Fear not Spunkwagon! I'll let you in on a little secret! I bought a piece of junk 5hp I/C flathead from a flea market a few weeks back. To help a friend find parts for his tiller. After he gets the fuel tank and carb of it you see I'm going to Fab a redneck manifold and put a Tilly on it. But first I gotta put a new crank in it...the output prolly has a good half inch bend in it. But hey, I only paid 20 bucks for it. And since I actually had it running like that I was thinking I'll let my buddy have those parts and I'll bring that engine back to life and make a rat rod then sling it apart! Bahahahahahahaha!!!!

Ok, come on Wes, that's not what the forum is about.
Getting a few social nicks and scrapes is normal, but rubbing salt in the wound is just mean.
In other words:
Shut up, please.

Do it! We need a few more junker engine refurbish threads since OldStrattonMan sorta stalled out on his. McKutzy has a good one though.

Don't be too hard on the young laddy. He's just brimming with enthusiasm...

And here I was letting you in on a secret...

I was even considering showing the one thing I truly love about a Briggs on a video...and that's how tough they are, by showing a video of it running with a bent crankshaft!

I'll still do it anyway, just for you. Because I like annoying you as much as you obviously like annoying me even though that is not annoying to anyone. It's actually going to be an educational video if dude ever gets my engine back to me. Then I need to get over to my uncle's place and see if I can scrounge up an old 5 horse lawnmower crank to put in it. I have a theory.
