Been having trouble keeping this thing going purchased used about a month ago ran fine for 3 days ever since then it loses power after its warmed up and dies. Will restart but dies out once gassed and warmed.. messing with it trying to figure it out I've lost power to battery and unable to start so I ended up replacing stator, the relay switch, ignition, CDi box and even new carb.... So it starts up fine now again but does the same thing... unable to get the right size for a compression test I took apart the head to see if I seen anything off and there's oil soon top of the piston and seems to be leaking into my exhaust valve causing smoking. Maybe new rings and valves? Could it be anything else?

Is this my problem?

Poor oil control wouldn't cause a problem like that. It sounds like you have a poor electrical connection or bad electrical component somewhere. Maybe a bad kill switch? It sounds electrical to me.

It wouldn't have anything to do with it getting hot and dying? It happens fast at higher rpms but able to cruise low throttle for a bit longer but as soon as hit harder it stutters dies and sounds like air is venting when dead. What would you suggest looking at ? I've replaced thecdi, stator, coil , and relay along with carb with new electric choke
---------- Post added at 06:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:41 PM ---------- And there is indeed oil on top of piston getting to the chamber into my exhaust pipe |

Hmmmmm, electric choke......
Maybe the e-choke is never fully disengaging, resulting in a too rich mixture, causing adverse effects? ![]() IDK. As for the venting sound, it might be compression release, which would be built into the engine. Also, can we see some more pics of the engine in general? I've already gathered that you are working with a Chinese engine, and those are generally JUNK. ![]() You may be better off doing an engine swap. ---------- Post added at 06:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:45 PM ---------- For the oil, the rings or valve guides might've gone bad, or your cylinder wall may be scored.

Well the carb and choke are new not sure if my old one had anything wrong but replaced to make sure. The electric choke does get hot and stays pretty hot when the engine is on

Yup, that's a Chinese engine, alright.
I'd just replace it, this is a really strange problem. Someone might have good advice for you, though.

May be the best easiest solution not the cheapest would be nice to have. But I'd hate to do that and it be somethin fixable though I'm gonna wait on advice and keep messing with it for now thanks for the input

Check for a restriction in the exhaust system. Could be a huge nest of some type or a clog in the muffler. Make sure your valves are adjusted right, if they're too tight they won't seat properly. Always adjust valves cold. You need a compression tester to accurately test the cylinder and ring condition. You're still guessing, that won't solve the problem.
---------- Post added at 10:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:41 PM ---------- For the heck of it, unbolt the exhaust pipe from the engine briefly and see if it runs any differently. That will eliminate the exhaust system anyway. Don't run it too long, the valves will get hot. |

Just take the exhaust pipe and muffler off to look for clogs? Could that cause the oil getting in? I'll have to order the attachment for the tester and wait. I've noticed the oil smelled a little gassy also so I've drained the oil for now
---------- Post added at 09:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:04 PM ---------- I've tried running with exhaust off the other day and didn't sound any better and got some smoke |

Local guy says he doesn't have stems or or seals for them just a new head. Would you recommend finding new valve stems/seals or take the new head with them? That will possibly solve the oil issue correct? Unless it is the rings and cylinder walls also? When I go to part store I plan on taking all so maybe he can measure the walls for me I don't have too many tools lol.. does this not have anything to do with losing power . Or is this something else you think? Like someone posted before electrical?

It is probably rings, or the valves. Either way, I'm pretty sure that oil in the combustion chamber will cause you to lose power.

Karrteck I am waiting on the fitting to fit the plug hole to test. Are there other ways to test? And what and where should I start in diagnosing we've talked about the fuel stream and peacock wich is fine. Tooken my brand new carb apart to check just in case looks clear no clogs new. The only thing off to me about the fuel is the auto choke stays warm and gets hot.
