Default 2018 - Bigheads Bartool Race Kart

My entry. Race kart and TRX200sx barstool. The last 4 pics are my past builds. Going to be along those lines. Mocking up rack and pinion now.

Enjoy

Ah man I hope you don't finish this year, because I'll have to vote for yours instead of mine!🤣

They look great though!

Started on motor mounts harvested from quad. Sleeved and plug welded. Will build top mounts once upper frame is mocked up. Going to set steering next. Used steering stem from bmx bike. Connected to karts shaft and yerfdog spiderbox rack and pinion.

Enjoy.

Got bumper shortened. With karts bumper sticks out for foot and pedal room. With barstool not needed. Looks better tucked up to frame.

Had to redo steering. Had rack and pinion in backwards. Might have to use a steering wheel. The turning pull with bars is pretty long. Can a guy make spindle arms longer to make shorter pull? help!!!!!!

Need advice on my steering problem.

Also about my tie rod question in video below. I only have one rod end on each tie rod. So left and right hand does not matter correct? I really don’t want steering wheel. So if I lengthen the arm will it shorten my pull? Steering has always been proven with my Barstools. I want this solid.

Thanks.

Got the bags on tonight. Pretty simple anyway. Will build upper mounts later. Made the seat out of a bunch of scrap bends.

Enjoy.

Time for update

Got lots little stuff done. Wireing was a snap. Only had to modify one battery cable. Laid into the Honda electrical box perfect. Hardest is uncut and out of the way. I thought it was going to be the hardest. Both wings in and parachute mock up. Video to come.

Enjoy

Battery box and passing lights done. Wanted to put battery in side saddle. More hassle than it was worth. Almost done with fab. Adding third bearing and hanger on the axle to limit axle flex.
