Default Torque Converter Trouble

Crankshaft broke on my JF200 engine. It had a 2 7/8" PTO length. I'm having trouble finding a replacement crankshaft or a new clone engine with a PTO shaft longer than 2 1/4". Will my existing torque converter (comet series 30 clone) work with a shorter PTO length?

Yep, as long as you have more than 1/4" of the splined hub on the keyway, you should be fine. Get a ruler and measure what this length would be.
Just make sure the torque converter is nice and tight- I had a 40 series fall off, the damage to the key was not pretty!
