Default Friction disc trans w clutch idea

i dream up crazy ideas lol
excuse my drawing any spelling
any thoughts?

using a bicycle gyro setup to pull(slide) the spring loaded friction drive disc away from output friction wheels, one being keyed locked for output/one being use to insure balance pressure of friction drive disc free spinning on a bearing of some sort.

by moving the friction wheel(keyed) left to right across the friction disc
i hoping to change the gear ratio i havent been able to find any information online explaining that exact ratio

I don't quite understand why you have two friction discs tbh...

if you had two friction cones that almost makes sense..
ah well anyways...

maybe you want even more discs (four perhaps?)
on commercial cvts such setup would use toroids instead of cones,
or a two cone setup (to double the ratio) and a number of drive wheels (one or two.. sometimes just a belt) in between.

The problem is, the smaller the contacting surface between the engine and the wheels,
the less torque that thing can handle reliably.

So very few are actually commercially successfull (and reliable enough to be called that)
Nissan-Extroid-CVT comes to mind...

Anyways, I'd like to see some tweaking
and maybe a drawing with a ruler (or a digital one perhaps)
The basic idea isn't bad (going by how many before you had a similar idea at least )

I've actually thought of that basic clutch setup minus the variable speed thingamabob before. I thought it would be cool to put it in an RC car, have the clutch activated via a servo, to have it serve as a manual clutch for the car. And I was thinking a solenoid V twin reciprocating engine, so it could "idle" with some momentum and have respectable starts. I still have yet to do any of this, but I really want to make it a reality.

are you talking something similar to how a old rear engine snapper mower works? Cause I've had them slip when the friction wheel got wet. Plus, it is a fairly complicated setup.
