Default Charging coil changeover.

Wondering if anyone can shed some light on the realisticness of being able to remove the charging coil from my 212cc loncin snowblower engine thatís not being used and adding it to the 208cc powerfist engine that runs my tracksled. Reason is lighting and cool stuff on my tracksled would be nice to have.

What are the chances that the flywheel and everything else required will switch well and what other potential problems can the expierenced guys here tell me. Thanks!

It would probably be easier to just swap the two engines.

Chonda engines are very hit or miss with parts compatibility. Flywheel taper is one that's all over the place from brand to brand. Honda, Kohler, GKW, etc. Might work, might not.

Typically do need to swap the flywheel in order to install charging coils. There have been a few engines here and there (like the Honda GC series if I recall) that have this wonky little single pole external charging coil that runs off the ignition magnet, but they are just sufficient to recharge the small SLA battery for the electric start, not really run lights or anything.

Shoot, even the Predator 212s don't all use the same flywheel taper.

Thanks for the responses guys!
I guess step one should be test current charging coil and measure output.
