Default Bendix brakes?

I've seen a few karts with Bendix Brakes or ones that look like mini drum brakes. How do Bendix/drum compare to band and mechanical disc setups?

For me Iíve had both on my karts. I prefer the disk, over the band. It helps a lot when slowing and itís not needed to mash down the pedal in order to slow. Itís all around a better design. Iíve used the mechanical type, but the hydraulic will have a bit more stopping power.
