Default Obtaining a race kart chassis, some questions.

Thought I'd post it here since you guys have a lot of info. For my kart I will want to use a race chassis and I don't know some things and need to know before buying.

1. Are they size specific? I'm 5 feet 11 inches tall and I want to fit comfortably on it. But I don't want it too big for my 2 year old son to ride it eventually (sooner than later)

2. Are parts for the most part universal? Like axles and brakes etc?

3. How will I know what size engines fit on the kart? I want to run either a 6hp, 10hp, or 15hp ohv 4 stroke and am concerned the larger motors won't fit.

4. What is a good site that has a lot of chassis specific parts? I will most likely start with a bare tube chassis and build from there.

Is there anything else I should know?

They are different sizes, each class has its specific chassis length and setup. Nearly all parts will work just mounting will be different. It will most likely be a lot cheaper to buy a rolling chassis and throw an engine on it than build one from scratch.

If I could find one that has all the stuff I need/am looking for I'd do that.
