Default Rev gear box no jack shaft

I was wondering can you get a gear box and run it in rev full time. I don't want to install a jack shaft if I have a choice.

Welcome. Can you provide a little more detail? Are you asking if you can run a gear box in reverse continuously? Please explain why this question is being asked. Also what does it have to do with a jackshaft? I can't speak for everyone here, but many of us would like to help you, but we simply need more information.

Oh I know.. someone installed the engine backwards and now struggles
with getting the vehicle to move forward...

Am I right?

That's my guess. Probably had a jackshaft built into the engine plate with the sprocket on the right side, and they bought it as a roller, no engine, no plate. Slapped a motor on there, and now it spins the wrong way. Gear ratio might be wrong too, if it used compound gearing with the jackshaft.

Cheapest fix is to put the seat in backwards.

Another likely situation is, the original engine was one that ran backwards...Kawasaki Mules are like that.

Just like the Mythbusters' backwards car...
I've actually seen that thing in person!
It would be fun to find an engine that runs "backwards"(clockwise), since it would be fun to make a rear-right wheel one wheel peel go kart. For the sake of uniqueness. Might perform ok on a speedway track...
