they sell them in 4ft lengths and its $20-$40 a piece lol

would a 1x1x.100(10ga) tube work? actually the 1x1x.100 piece is 8ft length at 22.99 a piece.

Dude, find another supplier. 10ga is waaaay too heavy, you want about half that thickness max.

... & longer lengths too

Why? A 20% discount on products I don't want wouldn't be worth much to me. Have you e-mailed or called them to see if they can get you the specific size you want? If you ask, they can often special order less common sizes from their supplier.

Question Steel

ut: UUMM... no, they aren't the only source in your area; a quick look at your local yellow pages lists over a dozen. And they don't make it themselves; they order it in. So just because they don't have it on the shelf, they should be able to order it for you.

And if they won't? Then I stand with r97; a 20% discount for material you don't need is really isn't.

Russel steel is the only supplier that I get the discount with. and I might not even get that discount even so... the only other company I would try would be Varsteel

If russel can't get you what you want you mine as well forget about them, regardless of the discount they give you. Have you contacted Varsteel to see if they have what you want? what is wrong with other suppliers? THIS place looks good.

Why are you hellbent on going with a "supplier" that only boasts one size? I put "supplier" in quote marks, because NO steel supplier offers only one size. Unless Walmart carries steel now...

This is like saying that I'm going to try like heck to run my gasoline engine on diesel because that's the only thing my favorite filling station offers... and it's 20% off.

Cheap and useless, is still useless.
