I have a kart that has been put off being finished for a long time now. it is kinda long and i wondered if it is even a good idea to shorten it up a bit.
anyone think there is an easy way to do this? something that doesnt involve a lot of cutting and welding? or should i just leave it the way it is and just finish the **** thing!

Just finish it. Less hassle. You will have a big turning radius, but so what....

looks fine to me, it would be a ton of work to shorten it.

Posting Its wheelbase would be giving us much better info here, that would be measured down one side of the kart from the rear axle to the spindle where the front wheel is attached

the wheelbase is 52", someone told me its a mini indy kart, and might be mfg'd by byrd. he even showed me a pic of one. i think i will leave it how it is, and if i ever want to change it down the road i will think of a way

Short wheel base equals crazy drifting however it's essay harder to recover at high speed and mages the kart "twitchy". Long wheel base is easier to control at high speeds. Lol not that any of us go that fast.

I read somewhere that a near perfect wheelbase:track ratio is 4:3
