Default What do I have here?

help please, I received this go cart as a Payne g for cleaning out a storage shed. The woman had no idea about go carts and neither do I. I do know that itís a blue Carter Brothers double seater and it runs. Can anyone point me in direction of finding value of it? Iíve looked all over web. Thank you so much In advance.

welcome, I think It has been recalled. I did not see that specific model but ones very close. https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2005/cp...-kart-go-karts. But decide for your self. How long was it in storage ?
if it ain't broke I'll take it apart and fix it

Thank you for answering and yes I looked up #s on the recall and didnít see it either. She said she had it in storage for about 6 months. Iím going to try and sell it if I can find a fair market value. But I think I may invest in time up at local cycle service.

a carter 2606 is a decent fun kart..
those stupid recall crap is 100% pointless
Uh what I must not throw my tie in the 40hp lathe?
oh same gos for long hair and rotating enigines? who'd thunk?

Ah well.. some need such recalls in order to not have a multimillion dollar lawsuit

value.. depends on three things.
state, state and state

as in location
some locations are denser packed with karts and thus the demand can easily be fullfileld with cheaper ones

as in condition
a complete kart in pristine condition with fresh wheels, good seat pads and a running engine
is certainly worth more than one with worn tyres and a ripped seat and no engine at all, right?

and as in mental state
if you are willing to wait for the one guy that is willing to pay what you asked, or if you want it be gone as quick as possible.

And unfortunately we have no clue to answer any of these

the 2606 is from Carters "EconoKart" series (SX Econo Kart to be precise)
one of the better ones at that (with lights and such)
it should look like this:

it's a dead axle kart with a 6hp tecumseh engine

I'd say in near perfect condition maybe 300 is a fair price average over most places...
but ideally just check craigslist for similar karts
or maybe even better sold karts on ebay that are similar
so you get a good idea of how two of those states influence the value
