Hey, hey now. This is a family forum.

Seems pretty good 3 minutes in. How did you come across the video, Sid?

I'm subscribed to his channel.. that's how

I really love watching his videos..
he made a stool ... that video is just awesome!.. check it out
.. in fact, watch all of his videos, there're only a few anyways.
I cannot recall which one was the first that youtube suggested me to watch...
whatever it was, it was good enough to subscribe to his channel

There are three very different tool-guys I follow..
Him (This Old Tony), AVE (the shop gorilla [mature language involved ]),
and clickspring (the finesseur of craftmanship... I wish I had his patience)
these are the top three of YT-shop guys IMHO.

Apart from Bret and Grant there are no ga kart related stuff I am subscribed to,
most of it is... uhm.... not worth my while let's say.
even cars and cameras started to get boring after a short while..

This is a pure coincidence that Tony now builds one; and I just thought I'd share it with you.

Ya know for all intents and purposes, McCulloch used a chain saw engine when they built a go kart...in the 50s or 60s. Glad someone is brining back the old old school power for a kart.

It sucks he's having so many issues trying to get the chainsaw engine to work and resorted to a small 4 stroke engine. He could use some help with the Camber, Caster and Ackerman angles.

too bad, I know...
I doubted it'd ever work the second he welded that sprocket to the clutch.
first.. bicycle *sigh* not even BMX but cassette shift sprockets,
And I'm afraid matching flimsy bike chain as well to make it fit the cassette.
(BMX chain is as we all know basically #41 chain really)

Anyways.. we'll see how it goes, and in the end .... there will be go kart

I wonder if he could put a different clutch on it maybe a #35 clutch with weights for a 2 stroke? No idea if those clutches for chain saws can come off though like that.

finding one small enough for the shaft and space available would be the bigger issue here.

The clutch he's using is already the ideal one for the task (since it's taylored for the engine)
that chain thing is the only drawback.

With his machine tools and skills an easy fix IMHO

But for now it looks like we'll see that odd engine up there
(I wonder why he didn't just got himself a predator 79cc instead *shrugs*)

Itsid. Hes good at editing video. But his gokart design could use some work in the engine department. You should get him on here so we can help guide him in the right direction. He just spent 200 on a other chainsaw engine!
