Default subaru 5hp ohc tank

been awhile, so i gotta ask, will a honda gx 160 tank bolt up or does it have to be a subaru tank? what's wrong with the one in hand? the top is rotted out, the bottom soon to follow. looks like it was filled with water. the engine style is that of a honda gx/clone. thanks in advance

Whats the matter? Don't want to pay between $85-$99 for a new Subaru 5 hp gas tank? Are you getting a little tense when Subaru asks you to bend over and grab your ankles? Whoever made the price mark up for OEM Subaru industrial engines was like oh hey, normally we do a 100% markup, what do think would happen if we made it a 1,000%? heh heh heh... poor bastards will have to buy our parts for the price of a new engine... heh heh...

A Honda tank will not bolt up to the Subaru.

With the help of a fuel line, you can use any tank to any carb. just get any old tank it mount it somewhere else.

2slick, that's a last resort considering the ways the tank can mount. if i had a spare tank with which to do this, it might be a second choice.

Mike, call or email some of the shops that sell parts for QRC karts and Junior Trophy karts. Those karts use robin/subaru engines, but they remove the stock fuel tanks because they use external racekart tanks, so you'll probably find several of those shops will have a stack of brand new subaru tanks they'd sell cheap...
