Default Doc's Diesel Weasel

Hi, folks!

Been a long time since I was active here. I took a bit of a break, focused on some other stuff, got my bee-hind kicked by life... Etc.

I just thought I'd share this recent creation with you all. I call it the "Diesel Weasel- Rat Rod Mini Mow Kart"

Long story kept exceptionally short, it started life as a mid 1960's mini-class riding mower. I stripped it down, did some frame work, shoehorned a chinese clone of a Yanmar L100 10hp diesel into it, with a Comet 40 CVT, and a 1" live axle.

I'll post the video here, and come back and drop some more details and some still images, later. Nice to see ya!
EDIT- Been so long, I've forgotten how to properly embed video. Dang.

Well, heck... Just click the link. Here's a pic to go with...

Saw a couple of those vids not long ago. I got a good laugh at your coil fuel line.

Surprised it almost did 80km/h (50mph roughly).

It's a Chinese copy of the L100N Yanmar 10hp. I've heard mixed reviews on them. Outside of Doc here, only one other guy on YouTube has one that has videos on it for the last few years, Fearless Front. He put one in a Sears Suburban garden tractor as an ATV/mud runner. Far as I can tell by his newer videos on it, it's still going strong.

No backfiring! That is an engineered flamethrower system. I've only seen a precious few examples of a flamethrower exhaust on an OPE engine project like a go kart or mini bike, and those are gasoline engines. I think I may have the first on a diesel.

Wrong- but a decent enough guess!

This is just beyond fantastic!

You got the whole amalgamation going on; hot rods, rockabilly, the patina fetish as influences. Then we have the "Old Lawn Tractor" fad, and turned go kart.

And we have the exalted Diesel engine. Perfect... and I haven't even watched the video yet.
