Default A late hello!

I just realized I never stopped by to say hello! I found this forum looking for information to get started building a go kart.

I'm not really new to karting, or really anything with a small engine, but I'm new to the concept of building one from the ground up.

During high school I dual enrolled in Welding/Machine Technology so I'm not new to welding equipment either.

Inserted are my last two beasts

One was an early 90's dynamark with an 18hp Briggs. The tires were way oversized, and there was no governor or exhaust. Crappy as it looked, it would do 25-30mph in 5th gear and could flip itself over backwards doing a wheelie if not careful. The other was my GX160 go kart I picked up for $200. Worked it hard the whole year or two I had it, wasn't the fastest but still had the power to do doughnuts in the driveway. Never drove it with the light on, couldn't get it mounted firmly at the time.

If you want to talk more, you can message me here. My facebook and skype are also on my profile.

I wish I still had it. Tore it apart and was going to sandblast and repaint the frame, but while it was in the garage someone stole its motor and I never got to getting another. Then the frame got left when I moved.
