Default 212cc predator.modifications

I just bought the harbor freight 212 cc engineering and need some advice.does taking the governor off make a big difference? Will removing the governor cause the motor to fail.what type of carbuerator is a good low budget up grade.I bought a filter w an adapter .but the tube from the old filter has no place to go.I guess its a pulse tube? In need of help.Thx
Its a predator motor.also.do velocity stacks improve performance.short or long?

Paz- take some time and have a good look around the forum. There is a ton of information regarding the ups and downs of governor removal, carb work, etc. The tube is part of the PCV system or Positive Crankcase Ventilation. A breather as it were. When an aftermarket air filter is used, the usual thing to do with the tube is to stick a filter on the end of it and secure it in a good (usually upright) position. A good basic filter choice is an automotive inline fuel filter. Can be had for $2 or less at an auto parts store.

Hay why wouldn't removing the throttle linkage from a governor work? Instead of removal of the complete governor?

when you leave the gear and butterfly in the motor and rev too much past 3600 the parts fail and fall into the motor and up everything they come in contact with

Oh.better do it the right way then.my next move is to get an aluminum flywheel,18 lb springs, stronger push rods, and remove the governor.is there any type of flywheel et up that is good for the 212cc predator?does getting an aluminum flywheel with fins eliminate the need for the factory plastic wheel with fins?what push rods work well .and are valve guide plates helpful?and different rockers?
