Default New to karting. Want to upgrade Kandi buggy

Just bought my young boys what I believe is a 2014 Kandi 125CC buggy.

Looking for some advice on which upgrades to make on the buggy to make it faster off the line. Would like to preserve the electric start and reverse. Working with a budget of ~$1000 for the upgrades.

Start off with checking your sprocket size and see if you can go up 10-12 teeth. Should cost less than $50. Then see how you like that. Progress from there if needed. This will get you off the line much quicker with a sacrifice of a few mph top speed.

Other upgrade would be a big bore engine swap and cvt upgrade, which would be within your budget as well.

GY6 engines have several upgrade options that you could look at.
