Default Hooning with the ‘hood

We had a somewhat nice day today, and I got the bbq grill fired up. While I was waiting for things to smoke we got the go karts out and started playing in the side yard ( not easily visible from the road ) we played chase and drifted in circles, and it wasn’t long before the neighbors started dropping by, and since I have an extra race kart I let them have some fun too.
We ended up with basically a mini race track in the side yard, all of us are covered in grass and dirt, and we’re about to sit down to a nice bbq meal. All in all it was a pretty good afternoon.

If we ever move out of Texas, I've gotta convince my parents to move to North West Arkansas!
That sounds like my kind of barbeque! Looks finger licking good!

The job market pretty much stinks here. I got spoiled when I lived in Florida. We do ha e some good kart racing though. My goal is to get the whole neighborhood corrupted.

The more people we can get into karting, the better. Too many kids inside in front of the idiot box. Need to teach then how to tear something down, rebuild and build their own kart. Looks like you had more fun than any of us.

Looks like a real blast. This weekend, I mads sure my yard has signs of a kart track, with turn one visible to the road.

I hope to have the bbq smoker and another kart going this summer.

Thanks for that inspiration !

I think I missed something, what did you do to get sent on vacation?

And I wish I had people to ride with. One of the disadvantages of being 17, and knowin' nothing about computers, but being a sponge when it comes to engines and all things mechanical. Also, I live between two cities, in a rural area (closest asphault is 2.5mi. away), without many people my age. And it doesn't help that I prefer classic '70s muscle cars over ricers, and overpriced fireworks (I'm talking to you lamborgini). There are a few people in my family that like karting, but karts are overpriced around here, especially race karts.

This thread is about tearing up the yard with racing karts, and great times with food, family, and neighbors! And Nate eating too much! I can't imagine why, can you?

That one kart is covered in mud!

If I can get a day where the ground freezes up good I'll have acouple friends over and we'll tear up my yard. One of 'em has a mower that he just put a kawasaki vtwin on. Goes like 25 with smaller rear tires. I'm friends with kids (I'm 16 and they're around there too) that are interested in the same type of stuff I just wish we had more room to ride. Need an open field somewhere.
