I rode alot of yard karts when i was young, but now my little boy is wanting one. I just bought one that needs some work for Christmas. Looking for any info i can get. I have been reading the forum for awhile, but didn't have a reason to post. Its blowing some white smoke out the exhaust. Worse case i will just buy a Predator Engine. Cheap as i got it, there is some wiggle room. All i know about the cart is its a Manco, blows white smoke out the exhaust, and it really don't want to pull. Looks to me it has the wrong belt on it. I haven't really gotten a good chance to look it over. Thanks for any help!

Buy the predator. Dont let your little boy be disappointed because you need 3 days to replace a rod or something like that. Get a predator and run.

White smoke is bad piston rings. Replacing those is a pain, especially for a motor of little value. I bought a Manco about 2 weeks ago and it will run run today when the throttle cable arrives.

I'd clean out the fuel system first. Contaminated fuel or something. White smoke is steam (moisture) or some additive.

The torque converter belt isn't even close to being correct.

Thank yall for the response. Yeah i am planning on tearing the carb apart and clean it good make sure it ain't dropping fuel down in a cylinder. If it doesn't fix it, or find major problems i will probably just go with a predator. They seem to be hard to beat for the price. I am ordering a belt today(Manco 5959 belt i hope?) I guess that will let me know if i need to tear torque converter apart and clean or rebuild. I have till Christmas to get this thing going. Anybody have a recommendation on seat belts? One on it is tore, and before i turn my 7 and 3 year old loose riding i want to make sure they are right. Both have a helmet, but i don't want them flying out.

Thanks Randy H that does show the belt on it, is a little big.

You can salvage seat belts from an auto junk yard.

Where is the best place to find and get parts? I am in need of a carb, seat belts and a 6" brake disc. The disc is warped. After draining the oil, needle was stuck in the carb and filled with gas. I cleaned the carb pretty good and got it to fire up and run. But I am going to go ahead and get a new carb for it. The 6.5 hp motor has been replaced with a Robin 5hp. Any info would be appreciated.

If it's a Robin, good luck replacing the carb. A new Predator will be cheaper. I'd get a Predator and while you are waiting for the belt, take the torque converter apart and give it a good cleaning. When the belt arrives you'll have an hour to install it all and you'll be very happy!

Well I got the kart tore completely apart. Got new brake disc and caliper, new seat belts, front tires and predator motor. Now just have to paint it and get it all throwed back together. I will take some pics, when I go get started. Its hid at a buddies ship.
