Default Engine Mount

Hi. I am almost finished building my go kart, with only the engine, clutch, brakes, and throttle to go. I was looking for an engine mount for my go kart, but could only find ones that were above 100 Australian dollars. Firstly, why are engine mount so expensive? Secondly, is it possible to make an engine mount, if so, how?

It did not come with an engine mount, unless this is the engine mount (photo attached below). I thought it was a plate that is welded onto this piece, that has screw holes.

When I had bought the go kart it did not have a plate where the engine mounts to. Also, the image that you had attached, was the engine mount just a metal plate, or did it have rubber in between to prevent vibration? Below is the image of my go-kart:
