Default Winch in Ground

So i may have ran over our neighbors grass a time or two, and my wife may have taken out our fencepost.

This leads me to exhibit A. Winching the trailer up our weird, steep, and wonky driveway.

I took some leftover 1.5"x3"x14ga square tubing from a previous table build for a customer (back when i used to do welding for people). And a little bit of flat plate and, 8-10 bags of concrete, and a fencepost, and a 10,000 lb winch.

Trailer mover didnt work, because of the incline, and i had already used it, so im just using trailer mover on the tongue, and welded some D-rings to the FRAME of our little camper. Yeah, we got it used, and there is no warranty so whatever.

3/8" cable from home depot attached to the d rings with two clips and a snatch block so we can pull from any point and still steer it.... Lo and behold, it actually worked!!!

And there it is. Frame hasnt bent, winch hasnt popped off, and we can steer this little guy into the side yard without running over the precious grass, or our fence (again).

Very nice! Driving a truck and trailer in a driveway is not the easiest thing to do at times, so I understand the grief that it gives you.

Well...MFF will make you feel like you want to die...I know..

So with this winch.... What is the long bar out the back for??
I see it doesnt swivel so I ssumed it was for a pivot, but it doesnt..

i was worried about the concrete support working loose over time (e.g. rocking back and forth) its just over-engineered. The idea was to have a lower point to "anchor" the winch down as it pokes out of the ground a bit. trailer is about 3,000 lbs.
