Yeah, the hemi's run into spring bind at lower lift. They also get piston to valve interference at lower lift as well.
If you plan on going big later, may I suggest:
One of these.
And it's always a good practice to replace lifters when swapping cams.
And you can run these if you want or go to the gage rockers.
Ans I'd use 18lb springs, I'm not sure if the cam would like 26 pounders.

This option may be a bit over you're budget though, so it's up to you.
For his personal safety, keep this one away from bicycles.
