Looking at your pictures i worry you may throw a chain. The alignment from the jackshaft to the drive gear looks about 1/4" off. But could just be the images.

i tried to search a little but cant find the diygokart thread on it. IIRC a 3/4 ratio of width to length on tire spacing is prefered. so this may help you align the axel and front wheel and how far...

Why not mount both motors in the same direction....

Why not mount both motors in the same direction. flip the motor and move the drive sprocket over and bam better performance. right? its a custom build might as well make the best out of both motors....
