I don't know where the name comes from, but it's called a "floating" or a "swing" motor mount.
Here's a picture of one (not mine). But it "floats?" or goes around the rear axle with bearings.

Unless you plan to go back to the 64t sprocket, and use the same chain, then I'd shorten the chain to fit the 54t sprocket.

It's very annoying when a chain won't stay on.

As a last resort you could change to a different shaped gas tank to give more room and move the engine forward. Seems like a lot of work but it's less work than moving the seat frame.
