What kinds of "upgrades"? Did you upgrade it yourself or buy it upgraded? If so, got a link?

And BTW - The official torque rating for the flywheel is 65 ft/lbs!

Use one of the gray gaskets and check your end play, the white one is just for spacing it out...

Why has no one suggested oiling the clutch bushing???? That is almost always the cause for a clutch trying to take off at idle.

Ummmmm, that's a REALLY nice vintage racing kart, but it is NOT a 60s race kart! It wasn't until the 70s or 80s that the engine was put next to the driver instead of behind him.

It depends, do you have an axle hub that will fit that? Is the band brake positioned so it can be that close to the sprocket? Ya gotta take a lot of measurements, we can't do that for you.

You could also gear it down for less top speed, which will both keep your boy safer and help keep the clutch going longer.
