when you heat metal, it changes the crystalline structure of it. it changes quite drastically at certain temperatures, thus making the steel have much different properties and strength...

I have that same welder. Use the wire it came with to practice, but when you want to do a project, go buy some good quality wire and put it in there. I wish I would have discovered that fact sooner....

I might give it a shot once i finish my pocket bike and golf cart, just to see if it works. I probably wont do the ratchet auto adjust though, but we will see how bored i am at the time though
