I wouldn't have done the threaded rod but that's just my pet peeve because the threads get worn down easily and then things get sloppy.

broaching - linear/rotary who has the tools ?

I will get the chance to do linear broaching soon on my project and was wondering who on site has done it.
It looks very simple to cut the keyway inside of a hole, far easier than I had thought it...
