I don't think you should buy that...thing. Personal opinion. You're going to need to weld to finish it, and if you can weld, you can make one better for the same money.

You should be able to clean up the threads nicely with a tap. I usually run a tap through nuts that I've welded, although I use tig, so no spatter.
