I tried it once. I kept hearing metal shaving rattling inside that I couldn't get out. I just didn't want to put it on and have them fall down an open exhaust valve.

The groups are awesome places to get and share info. Sometimes you have to weed out the trolls. It is way quicker and easier than posting on here. I will get you some pics this evening if I can.

I have seen pics of them failing. The 1st gen raptor rods had bolt on dippers. If you have $15 You can get a nos rod that is .001 short from Ebay right now.

I don't see why people have a hard time finding old Briggs motors. I just started asking everyone I saw if they knew where I could find one. I picked up 4 and have 5 or 6 that I can get when I want....

You won't be going crazy enough to have a problem...

You won't be going crazy enough to have a problem with the raptor rod. Just check the numbers to make sure you are getting standard length and not an over/under rod.
